Platinum ink cartridges are proprietary 1.2ml refills designed exclusively for Platinum fountain pens like the Preppy. They feature a unique metal ball-bearing seal that prevents leaks and ensures consistent ink flow. They are available in three distinct configurations: a budget-friendly 2-pack of standard dye ink (ideal for trying new colors in a Preppy), a bulk 10-pack of standard ink for high-volume everyday writing, and a premium Carbon Black 4-pack. The Carbon Black pack is different from the others because it uses an ultra-fine, pigment-based formula instead of a dye-based one, providing artists and sketchers with a deep black line that once dry is entirely waterproof and fade-resistant.
